One of my bands, Subtle Body and the Cosmic Man, did a feature with Tim Brouk of the Lafayette Journal and Courier. You know I spent some time tuning the drums when they sound good in video recorded on an iPhone ::pats self on back::

Tim Brouk, the author of the Zimdiana feature linked in my previous post, has awarded me “Best Drummer: Rookie of the Year” for the “Timmy” awards, his end-of-the-year tribute to local artists. Thanks, Tim!

Zimdiana in the Journal & Courier

The local paper ran an article on the Zimbabwean marimba band I play with - the unfortunate phrase ‘jazz beats’ cropped up but otherwise I’m pretty excited about it.

First post! Since most of what I’m going to be posting will be related to music projects I thought I’d start out by sharing this little sketch I made with an Mbira (African thumb piano) and a pre-made set of guitar effects in Logic Pro.

There’s not much to it - I hadn’t actually played the instrument before, but I thought it would be worthwhile to just press record and see what might happen. Here it is:
